Thindal Murugan Temple
Thindal Murugan Temple, also known as Thindalmalai Arulmigu Velayuthasamy Temple, is a sacred site in Erode, Tamil Nadu where Lord Murugan is worshipped in his form as Velayuthasamy. This temple, located about 7 kilometers from the Erode bus stand on the Erode-Coimbatore highway, occupies an area of 2.43.5 hectares and sits atop a hill that rises approximately 200 feet above the surrounding landscape.

In 1977, the temple came under the administration of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR&CE) Department of Tamil Nadu. The HR&CE Department oversees its management, with a first-grade Executive Officer and non-hereditary trustees appointed to handle its operations. The temple’s income is primarily generated from various sources, including ticket sales for special rituals, donations collected in the Hundials (offering boxes), and proceeds from temple-related auctions.

Devotees flock to Thindal Murugan Temple with the firm belief that the deity’s grace brings about prosperity, health, and protection from evil.
