Tiruchendur Murugan Margazhi Timings 2024

The Tiruchendur Murugan Temple has announced a change in its pooja timings during the Tamil month of Margazhi (from December 16 to January 13). The temple’s Joint Commissioner, Gnanasekaran, detailed the revised schedule in a press release to accommodate the special rituals and significance of this auspicious month.

Revised Pooja Timings for Margazhi

  • Temple Opening: 3:00 AM
  • Vishvarupa Deeparatana: 3:30 AM
  • Udayamarthanda Abhishekam and Deeparatana: 4:00 AM
  • Tirupalli Eluchi: 5:15 AM
  • Kalasanthi Puja: Between 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM
  • Uchikal Abhishekam: 7:30 AM
  • Uchikal Deeparatana: Between 8:45 AM and 9:00 AM
  • Sayaratsai Deeparathana: 3:00 PM
  • Rakala Abhishekam and Deeparathana: 6:00 PM
  • Ekanta Deeparathan: 7:30 PM
  • Palliyarai Deeparathan: Between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM
  • Temple Closing: After Palliyarai Deeparathan

Special Arrangement for Arudra Darshan (January 13)

  • The temple will open earlier, at 2:00 AM, to facilitate the celebrations and rituals of Arudra Darshan. Other pooja schedules will continue as per the Margazhi month’s timetable.

This change ensures that devotees can partake in the spiritual practices during Margazhi, a month known for its devotion and early morning worship.
