Arulmigu Subramaniyaswamy Temple, located in Vallakottai, Tamil Nadu, is a prominent Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, also known as Subramaniyaswamy. Vallakkottai is the temple built by the emperor in this revision. Temple Name History Once upon a time, this town was the stronghold of a monster called Vallan. Avvarasan used to do many cruel things to the gods. The Devas went to Lord Muruga and prostrated themselves and told him about the cruelties of the monster. After speaking to the monster, he said that according to the monsters request, this place will be known as Vallans Fort. It later became Vallakottai.
Summer city according to Arunagirinath Swami Arunagirinath Swami made a pilgrimage and stayed at Tiruporur for the night. He lay down and slept thinking that he would go to Tiruthanika in the morning. Summer Nagar Kumaran appeared in his dream and told him to forget Vallakottai and disappeared. Shri Arunagirinath also woke up and was delighted to see Muruga in his dream and on his way to Tiruthani, he came to Vallakottai place and sang eight tirupukagal pamalas to Lord Muruga. The glory of Thirukkulam Indra asked his guru Brighaspati which is the best place to worship Muruga, and Brighaspati also told him that Vallakottai is the best place in the world. Along with this, Indra came to this place, mounted his vajjirayuta, made a temple, anointed Murugan with this thirttha, worshiped him and worshiped him and got Ishta Siddhi. The name Vajrathirtha was born because it was made with Vajjirayuta. It is true that if the Meiyanbars who go to this place immerse themselves in this Theertha and recite the six-syllable mantra, Om Saravanabhava, and visit the summer festival, they will get rid of all the sins and attain bliss.
